Andersen Steinberg is an executive search firm which specialises in Strategy Consulting and Corporate Strategy. We work with a select number of the leading strategy consultancies, and also with some of the World’s premier corporations, private equity and venture capital providers.

One of our major strategy consulting clients, a top tier firm, are developing their IT Strategy Consulting practice in South East Asia, and they are looking for Expert Project Leaders and Principals to join their Big Data & Advanced Analytics team. They will lead teams in a wide range of challenging client engagements with some of the leading firms globally and their responsibilities will broadly fall into two areas:

 Client Delivery
• Acting as project manager leading small but high impact consulting teams ranging from 1 to 5 people for an entire case or at a module level on select Big Data topics
• Owning project process, content and day-to-day client interactions
• Developing client-tailored Big Data strategies – setting the vision and identifying data related opportunity areas
• Suggesting and performing specific analyses – develop, and deploy state-of-the-art, descriptive and predictive models aiming at solving data-driven business problems
• Obtaining data, executing analysis, testing and improving outputs, presenting results
• Enabling the client to understand the analysis and its applicability
• Leading the execution of, or providing expertise and support to, information management related projects
• Fully engaging the client to ensure business model and information management strategies are aligned and translated into actionable plans e.g. arranging and leading workshops
• Suggesting and creating tailored plans to transform organisations, platforms and establish ecosystems to obtain value from Big Data & Advanced Analytics
• Presenting key findings to C-level executives
• Actively managing multiple client/stakeholder relationships throughout the strategy development and decision making process
 People and Practice Development
• Managing consulting teams with a strong focus on their development needs
• Contribution to the development of methodologies, algorithms and strategic tools & processes
• Contribution to the development of Big Data & Advanced Analytics intellectual capital for publication and/or internal use e.g. emerging technology trends,

Familiarity with a broad base of analytics tools (several of the following:
• Data storage: relational and non-relational databases
• Data management: eg, SQL, PostGRESql, Hadoop/Hive, Excel
• Analytics & BI platforms: eg, SAS, R, RapidMiner, SPSS, Alteryx, SAP, IBM, Oracle
• Data visualization: eg, Tableau, Qlikview
• Programming and/or scripting experience: eg, Python, C#, VBA, Java, Perl

Experience & Qualifications
• For any candidate - minimum 5-8 years functional or consulting experience in delivering value to customers or clients in any of the following areas:
o Defining data strategies / visions
o Executing Advanced Analytics
o Devising, implementing and operating business driven information management strategies and solutions – core understanding of information architecture, master data management, data governance
o Establishing Big Data organizations, platforms or ecosystems
o Creating or leading data businesses, experience with transforming business models based on data
• Previous 3+ years consulting experience in a mainstream strategic consulting environment.
• Work experience within the analytics department of a FTSE 100 company is beneficial
• Experience of leading mixed client/consulting teams
• Strong academics from top-tier institutions (top 10% of class), advanced degree(s) beneficial
• Willing to travel and work on client sites
• Analytical and structured, results orientated

Essential competencies
• A passion to serve colleagues and clients – wanting to solve the client's problem, taking ownership of doing so, bringing together all the tools and people necessary
• Ability to present your analysis clearly and to "sell" the insights you generate both internally and externally on the basis of the value they generate for clients (and not analytic elegance for example)
• Ability to focus and prioritise according to business needs
• Strong communication skills
• Strong written and spoken English, other languages beneficial
